I have been making these rare hard to find solid cedar frames for many years now and many have been purchased for display in homes, restaurants, nature centers and art displays throughout the country due to the natural rustic simplistic look of the frames that do not take away from the item being mounted..
Item is made of 100% solid cedar with a light oak finish.
Deep profile frame listed is for mounting 33 1/3 (12.5") record albums, thick and standard sizes and has a total frame size of 13.5" x 13.5" x 1 1/2" deep x 3/4" front.
The cedar flat Shaker style front of frame is 1 1/2" deep and 3/4" wide front.
Frame has thick 1/8" UV stabilized Acrylic and acid free foam board backing secured with metal easy removable and reusable points. No hardware is needed to hang this deep profile frame - position and level on wall, draw a pencil line at top of frame on wall, add two nails and hang.
Frame has a light oak finish with no sealers added to bring out the natural characteristics of the solid cedar used. No two cedar frames are identical in texture due to the natural characteristics of the solid cedar used. Pictures show item mounted which is not included with purchase. All natural imperfections of the wood is left in to add to the rustic appearance of the cedar. Natural solid cedar can have up to 4 different shades when staining is applied.

PLEASE see my initial review for this craftsman on recent license plate frame reviews. I now own 3 different sizes of essentially the same frame, the license plate, LP frame and CD frame. Quality is top notch but it's important to remember that this is "rustic" so some very slight variation in size (<1/8") was noted on the CD frames. For you MFA patrons, these would not be bit perfect for display but for everyone else these are beautiful pieces. I am much too particular but I have a total of 10 frames on my home office wall and am thinking of ways to fit in additional pieces.
